Just a Relaxing Saturday

Saturday mornings have been about doing a clean through of the house (instead of the daily tidy up), relaxing with the family & well just relaxing. Right now we are all in the living room watch Imagination Movers, Micah really enjoys music so we all act silly dancing and singing. But the guy with long hair seems like he’s been eating some of the funny brownies. I think the rest of today will be just staying at home, sometimes you just don’t want to do more anything else. JP cleaned up the stereo cabinet so there aren’t a tons of DVDs & games sitting around the TV bothering me.

Homer & Micah

I try to read to Micah whenever he doesn’t get too cranky before bed or just randomly during the day. I pick out usually three books each time & we’ll sually get through them all but last night we only got through 2 1/2 books, Micah just got too cranky and started flopping around. He said enough was enough, he wanted to sleep. Do any of you read to your kids? When do you do it? During the day, before bed or some ofther time?

Well I’m off to relax. Have a wonderful day!

What we reading mom?

No Bed Bugs for Me!

I got these bed bug encasement products to try & review. Since I’ve actually had a bed bug scare before (thankfully didn’t have them, just an allergic reaction to something) I thought these would be AWESOME when I travel. Last time I took a trip I tried them out & they were very easy to remember to use. And simple to use. I just placed my bags inside of the plastic encasement, the plastic is too slippery for the bed bugs to crawl inside of if the hotel you are staying at has bed bugs. I read that almost every hotel has SOME level of bed bugs, which just about made me want to hurl. I have no idea what level mine was at since I didn’t see any but I didn’t get any bed bugs. After reading so much about it, it scared the heck out of me. I stayed at some not so nice places before & now I’m too scared to go anywhere without these guys. They are just so simple, I never thought a piece of plastic could give me such peace. I know not everyone is as afraid as bed bugs as myself but if you are, this will give you piece of mind!

This is just my HONEST review, I was sent the item & given a small compensation to give an honest review. If I didn’t like the product I would let you know for sure, but so far so good. The only thing is they are a tad pricey but if you are an avid traveler it would be worth the price for sure!

Thursday Thanks

I’m starting something called Thursday Thanks where I am going to publicly announce three things I am thankful for in the past week or so. And I’d like to encourage you to gives thanks for the wonderful people & things in your life. It’s tough times for lots of people out there but looking at the positives in life can make it so much easier.

I’m thankful this Thursday for:

1. Having a son who sleeps through most nights since he was around a month.
2. My awesome metabolism which allows me to scarf down more cakesters then I’d ever admit to eating (means I don’t need any nuphedra…maybe when I get older & it slows down I might but not for now)
3. Fun Music. (Plain White T’s – Big Bad World CD)

10 things.

“The HonestScrap award comes with a caveat or two. Firstly, you have to tell your readers ten things about you they may not know, but that are true. Secondly, you have to tag 10 people with the award.”

Sooo Caitlin tagged me with the Honest Scrap award & I have done a meme in soooo long so I figured I’d go for it!
And I’m tagging the following people..so make me proud!
Erica, Sarah, Christine, Nancy & Leanne

1. I truely have no idea the color of my eyes. Some say they are green & some say blue, even the hubby flips his mind on what color they are.

2. No matter how big my purse is I’ll fill it up with stuff, if I have the room I’ll just keep stuffing it.

3. My dad had custody of me & my brother for 4-ish years once him & my mom divorced, we moved every year to a new place.

4. I went to 5 different elementary schools before moving in with my mom and staying at that one, my dad likes moving around.

5. I’m very unhappy with my legs since having Micah because my stupid stretch marks.

6. I’m the eldest of my mom’s four kids.

7. My toes are so long they look like midget fingers.

8. I still don’t have a driver’s license (going for one soon, but I hate being judged so I get nervous).

9. In life I think love & family is most important. I just want enough money to provide a comfortable life for my family.

10. I love being a stay at home (& work from home) mom because I never imagined sending my baby to daycare. I’m very blessed to have a job so flexible with hours so I can tend to my small families needs, because my family comes first.

Sorry nothing juicy, I’m just not that interesting…and have mommy brain. Can only think of baby right now. Watching him jump up & down in his jumparoo.

Look who’s sitting up!!

Micah sat unassisted today! I noticed as we were playing that he wasn’t leaning on my legs so I slyly slipped away from his side to see if he could keep sitting & indeed he did then I took off for my camera. He toppled over soon after this picture, but I’m one proud mama!

Sitting up!!!

Daily we lay out a thick quilt (it was a playmat but he rolls around too much now) on the floor with a spread of toys to play. Most of the toys I put up so they will slowly trickle back to a blanket full of toys by Friday. :)

Play time! Cow love!

Quick updates.

Today was a bit stressful day. A lady almost hit my car and then threw a screwdriver at it because she was upset my sister-in-law started yelling for her to slow down. She was driving the wrong way (in the left side of the parking lot) and going waaaaaay to fast. I’ve had anxiety all day over this. I have a good one inch scratch & dent in my left passenger door. Ugh, I don’t know what compels people to just be so rude.

Micah has had a gunky eye & congested since Friday, but that’s cleared up mostly today. He turned 5 months on Friday & the days have gone too fast. He’s started creeping last week which almost brought me to tears because he is growing too fast for me. He creeped almost two feet on Friday, my heart sunk. Today he rolled all around on the floor until the sofa stopped him and then until the wall stopped him.

Ride baby ride!

Father’s Day was good. And well Micah is one lucky boy to have a wonderful dad. JP has only been a dad for 5 months but he amazes me with just how awesome he is. An awesome husband, dad, best friend and person.

Now that I updated I can get back to daily blogging, once I get behind I feel overwhelmed. But all is well now. Oh yes and do y’all like the new theme here?

Constant movement

My days have been going by faster then I can keep track of, it’s almost sickening. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I’m working on a real blog post but right now my brain is fried after doing 5 loads of laundry today. I’m sick of looking at clothes, folding clothes and well…clothes. Has anyone bought wholesale laptops before & gotten a good deal on a good computer? Okey I’m beat, I have a bit of work to do and then off to my nice snugly bed!

More birds

Interesting…

I’ve seen all these Nutrisystem commercials & I can’t help but to keep thinking of how much I’d like to try it. How awesome would it be to have all my meals planned & healthy…and for cheap (about $7 a day). And have you seen how much Jillian has lost with it? Geez I don’t even need to loose that much weight, just get my new formed mommy belly off. I wonder if it would do the trick, now if I just have the willpower to stay away from the cakesters.

Open letter to DQ.

Dear Dairy Queen -

Why oh why must you have such tempting commercials? I use to live nowhere near a Dairy Queen & then I moved right down the street from one. I see this not helping my waist line (unless I invest in the best diet pills) but still making me one happy mama. After a stressful week of my bathroom flooding my apartment because of a leak from another apartment, my baby teething & not getting enough sleep at night…well your yummy treats just made life so much better today. So thank you and NOM NOM!

XOXO,
Pamela

Because pictures are fun
