How did I get started on naps?

Posted by admin on August 3rd, 2009 . Filed under: Being Mom, Pictures, Random .

How do you know if a baby is teething for sure? Is there anyway to even know for sure? Micah has been sucking on his lips and fingers for unusal amounts of time & just has little crying fits…which makes me want to take a nap. Naps are something I miss. Once you have a baby it’s no more naps for you, well maybe some but not the good kind. Like whenever you want and for however long you like, not happening. That’s what I want for Christmas…a nap. Leave me alone for 2 hours for a nap. Any holiday, give me a nap. Night sleep just isn’t the same. How did I start talking about naps? Anyways…miss naps. Very much. That’s the only thing I miss pre-Micah (coffee doesn’t count, I’ll get that back in T-minus 5.5 months!)… everything else is wonderful. Okey now for the second best thing to a nap… bed.. yup, bed time.

Nom!

Pretty boy with shiny eyes

He is just SO CUTE! What a precious little thing!!!!

Usually when my girls are teething, they get a little fever and runny poopy (TMI, but you asked lol!). Also they are overall a lot more cranky! Both put their fingers in their mouths a lot too. So, he probably is teething. Those ice pops in the plastic tube thingys… those are great for teething!

Are you sleeping through the night yet? If not, it’s like the best thing ever to get that full night back! His naps should get longer too the older he gets and eventually they might last 3 hours! My girls used to take 3 hour naps and I would looove getting in a nap also but that was short lived, now I’m lucky to get 2 hours out of them on a good day.

I think that’s the hardest thing about being a mom. The total lack of sleep!

LOL Thanks. Hmm no fever & his poop is always very soft since he’s breastfed. But the other things are right now, I puree & freeze fruit in icetrays for snacks/soothing…I broke 2 of the ice teething things already LOL Once teeth break through is it easier or harder?

Micah has been “sleeping through the night” since 1 month, sleeps 9pm-3am,eats & then sleeps until 8ish. Oh wow a 3 hour nap?! That would be HEAVEN, he naps like a cat! So annoying :p

Yes even at night you aren’t getting full on sleep because you are on alert the whole time…you know “just in case” LOL

He is so cute – you’re a lucky mama :D I miss the nap-whenever-i-feel-like it phase as well :) It’s hard to have to listen for the little guys.

red cheeks are another good sign and if hes gnawing on everything in sight then thats a huge sign too. but yeah what was said by other people – runny poop, and warmer than usual and the crankiness. I dunno if you can get it over there but Ashton & Parsons teething powders are AMAZING. Also, theres a little thing u can get it has like a grippy handle with a secure mesh bag kind of thing attatched. You put piece of apple into the mesh back, lock it shut securely and the little one can gnaw on it, really good for soothing poorly gums plus they get vitamins from the apple! :)

Roo – Thanks! I’ve never seen that powder, I’ll have to look it up. We have one of those mesh things & put frozen cantaloupe or honey dew whenever I think his gums might be bugging him! I think apple is the only thing I haven’t given him yet…lol I should go buy him some today
