Sing me to sleep…

Sometimes Micah has a bit of a hard time falling asleep at night so he’ll whine & pout. Well sometime last week I tried singing to him. First I started with the itsy bitsy spider then forgot half the words, went on to various songs and quickly realized that I knew almost none of the songs in full. Until I stumbled on Old McDonald which I actually knew! Even if I did add a few unusual animals to the farm like penguins, bears & lions. Micah seemed to enjoy it and quickly fell asleep to my not so smooth vocals, it’s amazing how he loves hearing his mom when most people would pay me to stop singing. :rolly: On the car ride home from grocery shopping this week he started to cry, I knew he was getting restless in his carseat but he was usually his time to sleep so from the top of my lungs I sung Old McMicah (yes I switched it to McMicah for him :) ) with our unusual arrangment of animals & it soothed his cute little self to sleep. And I’m sure if anyone could hear me they would surely laugh, good thing I don’t have a camera watching me because I would get plenty of giggles for my unusual behavior. :P

My sweetheart

Thats so sweet. My son screamed for pretty much the first year after he was born ( he still likes to have a good moan now, many years later :-p)
I used to sing the alphabet song alot, my daughter would join in from a early age. Anything to calm baby down. Plus you are bonding more and helping little McMicah develop.

That’s adorable. And one day when he can’t sleep and a neighbour/friend/someone tries singing him to sleep… but to no effect because it’s not mummys voice, that would be (annoying because he won’t sleep, but) so heartwarming! =P
Old McDonald had a farm… and on that farm he had a tapir. =D

Very cute photos! When I used to babysit I sang to the babies every now and again as well. Or just hummed something, put my hand on their little head and waited for them to fall asleep. Sometimes it helped, sometimes not. I’m not their mom, so… that’s always a little tougher ;)
