Helping hands..
Posted by admin on June 7th, 2011 . Filed under: Being Mom .My helping hands are Micah. He’s becoming HELPFUL in the kitchen. As in he’ll fetch eggs, milk, fruits & vegetables from the fridge. He’ll help crack an egg, is it odd that I am overjoyed at him for knowing how to crack an egg properly? We’re still working on the shells thing. But hey, he’s two. Last summer he wasn’t even opening the fridge!
He loves pulling up his vintage yellow chair up to the counter & helping. And I love that he’ll hopefully learn to love food and cooking. Just this morning he helped me make banana bread!
Anyone else have their child(ren) help in the kitchen on a regular basis?

I used to help my Mom cook all the time. Actually, she was the one to teach me how to properly break an egg.

I let my little one (he’s 5 now) help out with at least one or two things every mealtime, and we bake loads too. He absolutely loves it….always has
Infact, he enjoys food and cooking so much that prettymuch the only thing he plays with from his toybox at the moment is his plastic playfood, and he wanted things like baked potatoes with cheese and bananas with removable skins. I couldn’t find anything so I sewed some myself and they came out pretty good suprisingly! But I can’t keep up with all the odd playfood requests he has now LOL
At the weekends, he wakes up and prepares us playfood breakfasts and bring us breakfast in bed so cute
