Kind of reminds me of where we live all major stores are 20-30 miles away there’s this small like mini mart that’s SO expensive about 15 miles. We do get mail but you have to drive up to get it (all mailboxes are in one spot before you drive into where all the homes are) and they won’t deliver to our house you have to pick it up at the post office. This sucked especially during Christmas time. I also had to do the same thing “No Watching Horror Movies” when we first moved here I was like “No Way” beautiful house but seriously it’s one of those homes and areas that you ALWAYS see in horror movies. .-= Evelyn´s last blog ..Typical... =-.

That’s how it is delivered around here. Some people get it in the regular mail trucks, while some get in cars. I think they sub out work.

They have mail trucks here, but some carriers drive regular cars too. Although, some of the regular cars have the steering wheel on the passenger side. I'm not sure how they determine which routes get the mail trucks, but our carrier drives an old Jeep Cherokee. .-= Lynn´s last blog ..Do Not Click =-.

Hahaha yes very sheltered, I’ve lived within the Houston city limits almost all my life. So this is all so new to me. LOL Wow I must be sheltered if so many people have mail carriers that use their own cars. LOL

Ditto. In town they do have mail trucks but all the rural carriers drive their own vehicles. Same with garbage pickup. We got it in town but not in rural areas. You big city girls live such sheltered lives. :p

Our postal carriers drive their own vehicles as well, so it is not weird to me. We live in a little town in the middle of no where-- UPS usually has to call to find our house. .-= Jessica´s last blog ..Hail to the Victors! =-.

It’s not weird to me, because I also live in the boonies! The nearest gas station is four miles away, the nearest grocery store is six miles (and it’s a podunk little store, blech), and the nearest Target is eleven miles away! Oh, and our mail carriers (there’s a few that rotate throughout the year) all use their own vehicles, though they do have magnetic signs they put on the front, back & sides that identify them as mail carriers.

I think generally in America they mostly use USPS vehicles inside city limits. When they get really outside of town, then the mail deliverers use their own vehicles. .-= Jackie´s last blog ..Menu Planning 2/18 - 3/4 =-.

We have that, too, but the vehicles have a light on top that say “CANADA POST”, sort of like a Taxi light.

Not weird! Its the same here.. the odd time I see little mail trucks go and empty the big mail boxes around the corner but to delivery around my area they use their own cars too! .-= Jeanine´s last blog ..GIVEAWAY! =-.
