I hear ya! Where I live it cost more to rent a two bedroom apartment (and in some cases a one bedroom apartment) than it doesn’t to buy a two bedroom house…monthly of course. The whole idea of my boyfriend and I living together is to save money but with rent, utilities, etc it’s going to end up costing more. Moving/finding a place to move to is a very stressful situation.

We moved last weekend and I’m so stressed. Hopefully by this weekend we’ll have all our furniture here. My husband is at work all day so I’m trying to juggle an 8 week old baby and unpacking. Luckily she’s being a good girl.

Jeanine – Hehe it’s only 8am and I don’t see myself napping but I’m going to force myself to take one :p

WooDoo – Thing is I live in a desirable part of town & not in a apartment complex. I live in a duplex, they usually rent out pretty quickly too. So I doubt that will work.

Codi – I’ve tried craigslist, that darn thing is cluttered with SO many agents. Annoying, when I moved a few years ago I found a great place there. I keep looking daily, so hopefully I’ll stumble upon something.

Strange as the idea may seem you could always try to negotiate a lower rental rate for your current apartment. Do a little research to find out how many apartments are open in your complex. If there are a large number of openings you might have more room to negotiate. All check to see if they are running in specials that you might either get in on or use as a negotiating tool. They certainly want to keep their apartments full and if you have been a good tenant they should be willing to work with you. Good Luck!

My boyfriend & I went thru the same thing when we were moving. You’ve probably already done this, but just in case: try craigslist. We finally found a place in a good neighborhood on craigslist & we’ve rented from the landlord before. We’re spending a bit more than we’d like in rent, but things should be better once I can work again after having my son. I go to the hospital tomorrow to induce him. Oh I’m so sorry Pam.. That really sucks.

I hope you guys can find something soon.. Finding a place to live is very stressful, I dread when we have to in the coming months :/

Have a nap girl!! When baby naps you should too! I know that isn’t realistic though I know from experience you can’t always, but hopefully you get one tomorrow!
