Yesterday Micah had to get his tiny butt to the doctor for his first check-up & we had to be there at 9am. I had be anticipating this visit because I wanted to see if my little man had gained weight because with nursing him I can’t really tell how much he eats, I just have to believe he’s done when he shows signs of being done. Well we got to the doctor’s office 30 minutes late because of some INSANE traffic but still got in really quick. First I had to strip Micah down to his diaper and have him weighed…8 lbs 8 oz! He gained a whole pound in two weeks which is right on track, breastfed babies are suppose to gain about a pound every 2 weeks for the first 3 months. And then Dr. G comes in poking, wiggling & checking out my little guy out saying he’s healthy and looks to be doing great. Then Dr. G fills out a paper for us to go to the hospital next door to have some blood drawn for the normal baby tests.

Oh great the needle torture for Micah starts now I thought to myself. So we went to the hospital where the woman who was going to take his blood started off by talking to me as if I were a child & making snotty ass comments about…well everything. I thought well I could get in her face and be a bitch right back to her or I could kill her with kindness….I proceeded with kindness. So after all the paper work is done she starts lightening up and making comments on how cute Micah is, asking if he sleeps well, all the normal pleasantries new Mom’s usually encounter. After the paperwork is done Micah got poked in the foot, poor kid was sound asleep and just got poked out of nowhere. He screamed for a whole 15 seconds and fell back to sleep…yep just like his Mom with his love of sleep.  :LOL:

After all the doctor & blood work I thought I’d go ahead to Denny’s for my free Grand Slam…oh yes I did. I had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table but uhhh hello it’s free food! There were groups of 8+ coming in getting pissed off because they would have to wait 30 minutes for a table!!   :rolly:   You’re getting free food & bitching about a 30 minute wait?? C’mon…really?? Well I waited, got my grand slam, left with a huge smile on my face and pancakes in my belly! Sooo did you get YOUR free grand slam at Denny’s??? I wonder if they have retail franchises??
