My Baby Story – Part 1
Posted by admin on February 3rd, 2009 . Filed under: Daily .It’s been requested & I’ve finally got around to writing the story of my son’s birth. I’ll be breaking it up into three pieces to make it easier to read and to write. On Monday, January 19th 2009 I had my 39 week doctor’s appointment and I was very excited since I had contractions the whole weekend before that had been getting increasingly stronger by the hours. JP had to drive me to my doctor’s appointment since my contractions were becoming annoyingly strong. As I went into the doctor’s office my heart was beating fast and I was wondering if today would be the day that I might meet my son.
My name was called and I went through the same routine that I had gone through every visit for the past months. First my weight was taken (158 lbs, thank goodness I didn’t go over a 30lb weight gain), then I was told which room I would be seen in but first I had to pee in a tiny cup like so many times before. Once I get to my room with my tiny cup of pee I set it near the sink & then have my blood pressure taken, everything is normal with my pee & my blood pressure…it always is. And then I am told to undress from the waist down and wait for the doctor.
I’m sitting on the table trying my best to cover my bigger then ever ass with the paper skirt they gave me when there is a knock on the door & then enters Dr. J. I lay back and let him check if I’ve dilated anymore then before….I’ve dilated to 4cm & 90% thinned out (aka almost done!). Dr. J tells me that he’s going to have me walk for a hour and then come back to see if I’ve progressed anymore & to go ahead and get dressed. I come out of the room and he tells me “Nevermind on walking, you’re going to the hospital. You’re having this baby today.” The Dr. P gives me a huge smile and starts singing “You’re going to have a baaaaabby today!!!”
I walk to the car where JP waited for me and listened to sports radio. When I got in the car JP gave me a look like “Oh I guess nothing’s happening today” and I calmly told him “Let’s go to the hospital, we’re getting a baby today” By 10:30am I was in my labor room in that revealing (do I have to remind you of my very large & expanding ass?) gown and had called my parents to tell them that it was time. I layed in my bed watching ESPN with hubby (my shows aren’t on that early ) while breathing through my contractions.
Part 2 coming soon…

30lbs..wow that’s great. I’m at 48lbs and still have a month and half left. I’m not too upset though because it’s all belly. I barely went up a pant size. My doctor says it’s totally fine too because I’m tall and started out at a healthy weight.
Oh the suspense of part 2. It’s more exciting to read about someone’s experience online than in a book. Can’t wait for the update.

OH-MY-GOSH! If I were in labor, I definitely would NOT want to be watching ESPN at all! LOL! My boyfriend watches it all day long, which annoys the hell out of me. I can tolerate it for a while, but ALL DAY LONG? WITH THE SAME SHIT PLAYING OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN? No thanks! LOL! I’m such a girl sometimes.
& I can’t wait for the rest! Just reading it makes me excited for you!
