For me it was always her lasagna.

My absolute fave was a chicken stuff with a spicy rice and crawfish mix. Fabulous! Our neighbor from our the neighborhood I grew up in used to come back from his oil job in the Gulf and pick the chickens up from Venice, Louisiana. The skin and the actual chicken were flavored so well it almost didn't need the rice.

Now I am huuungry!

That food was always tacos for me. My mom didn't like to make them too much because my brother and I were such messy eaters, but when she did (usually for one of our birthdays) she'd go all out.

Even when I make them for myself now I get giddy.

Lasagna and home-made Pizza. My mom probably made home-made pizza, like maybe twice? The last time, I was 9 or something.. And I got SOOO excited b/c I got to help put the toppings on! It was when my brother had his teenage friends over to a bbq/drinking/party in our backyard and I wasn't allowed to be around them (haha) so mom was like "LETS MAKE A PIZZA"... Haha, waaaaay cooler than partying ;)

I get pretty excited about lasagna too. The trick is to make 2 pans, does not take much longer than making one, then freeze the leftovers and bake them when you are ready for them.
